We applied for the tender for Lincoln College Group; this consisted of Gainsborough College, Newark College and Lincoln College Complex. In total 8500 light fittings. We were asked to look at all areas of the colleges and remove and replace all lighting. The aim was to reduce energy consumption, improving light levels and also installing correct levels of emergency fittings.
After a number of site visits during different times of the day and evening it was decided that the best solution and greatest way to improve light levels and save energy was to remove all current fi ttings and replace with our new in-house design of LED Grill Panel in all classrooms and corridors. We also used a mixture of LED anti corrosive, LED batten, LED 2D lights as well as special bespoke light fi ttings for sports areas.
In WCs we used our New Intelligent Sensor lights to replace the existing 2D fi ttings. These maximise effi ciency by only using the power needed to boost ambient light levels, or to illuminate when occupancy is detected. The improvement in light quality is signifi cant, while the savings huge. First we completed the installation at Gainsborough College, and then moved to Newark and Lincoln sites at the same time. Installation was completed ahead of schedule and to the client’s satisfaction.
